Best cat food

My 13 year old mog has always had Whiskas, he eats it fine but his poos stink the house out (he's mainly an indoor cat).

We're getting a pup next week so I've been doing a lot of research into dog food and now am horrified at the ingredients of Whiskas, cereal and 4% meat and animal derivatives Sad

Am now looking to change him onto something a bit better with a much higher meat content.

Any recommendations? The puppy will be on Burns and I see they do cat food as well?

Yes Whiskas is evil stuff. Vets at our rescue (and elsewhere it seems) recommend Butchers' Classic for wet and James Wellbeloved for dry. I'm not sure about the meat content but the Butchers apparently has less nasty ingredients and is also good for preventing/helping with mouth/gum problems. Applaws dried has a very high meat content and is also a very good, though rather expensive, choice.

At 13 he may benefit from being on a senior life stage food more tailored to his requirements? Your vet may be able to advise you.
Good luck with your puppy, hope they get on together!
We introduced a new pup to our 12 year old dog a few months ago and they had a shaky start but are best friends now.

Google the benefits of a raw diet. My cats have never been healthier since I removed processed food from their diet.

Arden Grange have just introduced a line of cereal free cat foods with high protein content. I have just switch to this as I have always fed mobile mop canine version.

We switched from whiskas and Felix cat food for the same reason. Our kitten is now eating royal canin dry and butchers choice wet food. Her poo is sooo much better and no more wind!!
