The litter tray

How to respond to a 'gift'

Stan, my four month kitten, brought in a dead worm yesterday and dropped it at my feet. I thanked and petted him and waited till he had trotted off before disposing of it. Is the bringing of dead and decomposing gifts, just a way of saying 'thank you' or is it a message (as a friend of mine is convinced) that they don't like the cat food you're giving them?

Depends wether its dead or alive Hmm we've had one live bird and one live mouse this year.

Mouse was deposited on my sewing room floor, my immediate reaction was 'bloody hell cat, you little shit!!!!'
DH has never seen me move so quick to catch said mouse and cat sat there impassively watching.

Usually we see him coming off the field and up the drive with something in his mouth and can usually get to the back door before he does.

Love him really.....
