My 11 month old kitten has gone awol

He went last Tuesday about 9 pm and we have not seen him since. I am very worried. This is the third time but he has never stayed away this long before.

We have been out calling and looking for him. Please tell me this is normal. I am just trying to convince myself he has adopted another family :(

He could have, who knows. Is he chipped?

Yes he is chipped. He has only been away 3 times since we got him at Christmas. No collar as he made so much fuss I did not have the heart to make him wear it. If he comes back though, that will have to change.

We moved four months ago and another cat keeps coming in the house and the garden, would that have something to do with it? Although this other cat tends to go for my other female cat rather than my missing male.

Oh dear. I think he'll still turn up. It would be a good idea to start putting leaflets on trees and through doors. Particularly ask people to check their sheds and garages.

I just keep expecting to see him sauntering across the lawn as if he had just been gone 20 minutes!

He is just so very laid back and sweet, never ever scratched, always happy and so well fed! I think he must have got lost and I can only hope someone has taken him in.

Please cross your fingers for me.

:) He came back late yesterday afternoon. He would have been gone two weeks today.

He is a bit unsteady on his feet and he was so hungry. I am taking him to the vet for a check up. I am so relieved he is back home. And he is going to have to put up with wearing a collar from now on!

Snap release collars are much safer than elastic collars.

Great news! From experience though, don't put too much faith in a collar. Our wanderer has lost five so far (all safety collars) and we've given up... He is chipped though!
