I volunteer for my local cats protection. I am meant to be the lost and found person. Yet again I am awaiting the delivery of a cat and her three teeny babies Grin the last one I took in actually had her kittens here Smile I do like this job !

Envy s'not fair. I want a pg cat

topknob · 21/07/2013 17:26

Well kittens are about 6 weeks old, mum about a year old and it seems she is also pg again Hmm her stomach is hard and has a bump each side now hanging down. Can't feel anything moving inside though. She ate yesterday like she hasn't in weeks, yet she is lovely.

Blimey, she didn't let the grass grow under her feet did she? How on earth will she get on feeding kittens and being pg? She'll be as skinny as a rake.

Sad isn't it - you just have to look at the average life expectancy for unneutered female cats in the wild.

Sad

it is sad that she is already pregnant again people dont realise that a female cat can get pregnant four weeks after giving birth could have all been prevented if someone had had her neutered before she had the first lot of kittens, rescues up and down the country era overloaded with cute kittens and thier moms and not enough decent homes to go round, at least this baby herself wont have any more babies im sure the kittens are georgous and at 6 weeks old should be weaned by now and mom can be given a rest

I think she has been a stray for a while, the kittens aren't weaned so maybe are only 4 weeks old? I weighed them and they all weigh about a 1lb each. They are awake alot, play & fight with each other, pretty ok on their feet. One climbed up my leg earlier ! But not really interested in the food I put out. It it kitten food obviously and they will lick it so are getting there but haven't seen them eat any. They also have fleas, lots of them, nothing I can do about this except comb them and try and remove them all over a few days. Not sure about the mother as she appears to be pg again. I only have them for a week before they move onto the more permanent fosterer but would like them to leave clean and healthly.

poor lass at least now shes somewhere where she will be cared for and loved and yes if they are only attempting to (cover themselves in food) eat then they probs are around 4 weeks, put some on your finger and that may get them more interested in tasting it , look at thier eyes they change from blue to green at around 5-6 weeks and well done you for looking after them,
