Are there any other signs that she might not be well and need a vet checkup?

If not, she's likely worried about something so the thing is to find out what it is. Are both your cats indoor only? And how do they normally get on?

Actually, a vet checkup might be no bad thing in any case - when did she last go?

CurlyTrace19 · 15/07/2013 14:22

shes a very timid cat and hates going to the vets . I dont want to stress her unnecessarily. shes 90% a indoor cat she occasionally goes in the garden if we are with her but wont stay out alone. we have had our younger cat 2 years and after a bumpy start they get on well. she seems fine in herself eating and drinking fine. ive got an extra littet box down today. poor thing

Curly

I'm not clear - did you already have two litter trays and have now added a third - or has the second just been added?

CurlyTrace19 · 15/07/2013 20:53

we had two the younger cat uses one with a flap but Audrey can't use the door. o scrubbed her normal litter tray and moved it frim the usual spot as theres workmen next door and its been noisy in there. I have put a third box down today. thankfully Audrey has used her normal litter box today. im thinking the workmen made a loud noise and scared her.

That could be it. If they suddenly start going wrong on toileting after perfect behaviour, it could be a physical thing but usually they're bothered about something to do with their environment.

Keep it scrupulously clean as usual and give her extra TLC/taste treats (of course!) Glad to hear she may have recovered her equanimity.

Just a blip then which is good news. You were probably right that she didn't like the workmen.
