hand holding please - cat lost

I am hoping that this is the most ridiculous thread I've posted, and that my cat is curled in a ball somewhere in the house. I'd take any feelings of foolishness.

This morning, DH fed all 3 of our cats. 2 are housecats, the other goes out. Outside cat went out, other 2 went upstairs.

Sometime between then and me getting up this morning, we have lost one of the housecats. She could be curled up somewhere in the house, but I've looked everywhere for her. She's an oriental, so she's usually in our faces (or on our beds). If she got out, it could have only been when DH left (which is unlikely, given that we check thoroughly each time before opening the door) or out of DS1's window, which is unlikely as it's one of those small thin ones at the top of the window, and it's an upper storey window, so she would have had to have been very confident. She's never tried it before.

She's neutered and has a collar on. I've shut all the doors upstairs so thast if she's hiding somewhere she has to yell to be let out. I've kept the outside cat out, as she loves him, so hopefully she will go to him. I've walked around the block, checked in the garden, but there is nothing. No sign anywhere. I'm beyond worried, feel sick. Our other housecat is moping around (but that could also be because he can't sleep on the beds as I've shut the doors) I've reported her missing to the vet.

I'm hoping so much that I'm being stupid and she's somewhere obvious. But I'm so, so worried.

I was thinking that also. Maybe cat rescues such as CHAS have them as well?

Thermal imaging camera, according to DH, not infrared. I'm not sure where they got it!

We've got a voucher to take round to them, and going to get DS to make a card too.

Probably best not to ask the whys and wherefore's Wink

Is she stuck to you like a limpet now?

cozietoesie · 03/07/2013 13:47

Probably for his work. But yes - best not to ask. It sounds too expensive for Joe Public to have lying around on the off chance. She was lucky Mimsy.

MimsyBorogroves · 03/07/2013 14:16

She was.

She slept in our bed last night, but went in to DS around 6, which meant he woke up cuddling her.

She's spent the day asleep on his bed with our other cat - I think she's exhausted. Very sweet and purry, but she's got the oriental disposition anyway so she's usually like a limpet!

I keep going and checking she's still in the house. I'm sure the other cat rolled his eyes at me last time.

That's great. Wow, what amazing neighbours!

Fabulous news. Glad she's back and DS has had cuddles.
