In a word no.
Two choices for ticks in cats frontline or Seresto.

I've combed her with flea comb, and it's come off. Made a snapping sound. Hope there's none left in her skin. Feel a bit sick now!

Get one of the tick removing hooks from the vets or pet store for the future, works every time. Pain free, works on us humans as well.

dingit · 11/06/2013 15:07

Thanks. I've just ordered one from Amazon. But me being me, had to have a go with the comb. I didn't think it would work, but had already put on Vaseline, so I must have weakened it. I'd be horrified to get one on me Shock

We do lots of hill walking, never wear shorts. Spent a very romantic evening with DH beside campfire on edge of a loch removing ticks from his legs, lovely!!

dingit · 11/06/2013 15:17

Ugh, they would love my DHs legs, it would be like a forest! Do you not worry about Lyme disease?

Yeah, that's why the no more shorts rule.

We have a wee border terrier but we don't take him with us anymore due to the ticks as well, his claim to fame is that Jackie Charlton helped remove a tick of him in a pub in Ullapool.

Off not of

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/06/2013 15:23

For removing ticks from humans (not sure about pets) never put Vaseline on/burn them etc. The only safe way to remove a tick is to use a tick remover properly.

I just read that on the Internet. We used it on my old cat and it worked. I thought it stopped it breathing.

Does anyone know if you can put salon on a cat?
