Am i doing something wrong ?

My 3 kittens are now 5 weeks .

I started trying to wean them a week ago & the girl took to it right away & is now happily demolishing a whole pouch a day & will happily drink play with water .
The boys on the other hand are not interested in food no matter what I do
They are all a good weight , but the mum is feeding them a lot less so need to get the boys eating soon as possible.

Should they be eating now ?
If so how much ?

I'm trying to worm my older cats but they won't take the tablets no matter how much I mush them up in their food , Is their anything else available to worm them with ?

It's pretty well down to a negotiation between Mum and the two boys now. She'll start to indicate to them that they should be eating and not at the Milk Bar. (Is Mum using the food at all? That should give them the idea of copying her. Mind you, I would have thought their Sis would be demonstrating for them. )

Yes - you can get worming meds from the vet which are non-pill. I'd have a word with the practice about it because Mom is still lactating.

It's not that you're doing anything wrong. Remember that unless there's some medical or behavioural problem, it's Mum that weans them. As long as you're providing food and litter trays etc (because she's not hunting for them inside the house) then that's your job pretty well done.

I put the kittens in the kitchen everytime I feed the older cats so they can see what's happening so I guess ill just keep doing that & when I feed the kittens the boys just sit/play in the water .
