Anyone got any missing cat stories with a happy ending? Cat gone missing...

Our Brown tabby went out yesterday afternoon and hasn't come back yet. He's a proper Homeboy and doesn't go out very often so stay out this long is completely out of character for him. He's missed two meals and isn't much of a hunter.
We've had the door open all day for him to come back in and looked in all the out buildings (we live on a farm). We live really really rurally and I'm starting to worry that either a fox has got him or he's stuck somewhere. I thought I heard him meowing about 8pm last night but no cat has appeared yet.
Getting to the point now where I think he might not come back at all, can anyone reassure me all is not lost yet?

So Relieved! DH managed to get hold of him and he's no back in his rightful place on the sofa. I'm working from home tomorrow and he normally keeps me company on those days, wouldn't have been thesame without him ! Grin

Thanks Neoprene. We think it's a nice solid name for a nice solid cat Smile

Derek is a brilliant name for a cat (exudes personality), puss is called Mike and I've always wanted to get him a friend (possibly a ginger tabby) and call him Steve Grin

when I was younger our cat went away for six weeks, then just turned up one day no idea where he had been he was fine, shame he couldn't talk, gald you cat is ok x

I also like Mike and Steve!

We opted for Derek because his sisters have frankly ludicrous names (Wabbit and Purrpetua) so we wanted to show we were capable of a bit of gravitas when required!

Derek sends his best Smile

Very glad your cat had been found.

Our cat went missing over a weekend. Very worried as she is a homegirl. She turned back on Monday smelly and covered in dust! She had been looked into next door loft extension that was being built, we assume by the builders.

Our cat was not to be found one Saturday morning. We couldn't remember when we'd seen her the night before. Searched the house in all her usual spots, searched the garden, walked the neighbourhood shouting. I was so upset, kids were upset, dh (he adores her) was acting cool but was searching the photo files for the best pictures of her for a poster. We called and called and she always comes pretty quickly but nothing. Finally at about 1pm we thought we'd better get dd3 out of her pjs (had been too distraught before). dd1 took her upstairs and next thing we heard was 'oh . She was in dd3's pants and pjs drawer - which was totally shut. No idea how she got in or how long she'd been in there - I suspect around 18 hours. She was fine, had plainly slept the whole time. Pjs were furry and we were all wrecked with emotion and relief! So glad yours has turned up.

Yes me, Evil Cat disappeared for 3 days and I was distraught.

She's home now and total change of character, she's actually quite nice now and very clingy!

Everyone here was so lovely while she was missing, kept me sane!
