Kittens - just a few questions

Me for a change

Just started to wean the kittens today , The girl has taken very well to it but the boys aren't interested so how can I make sure they are getting what they need as mum has stopped feeding them .

Also how much should I feed them & how often ?
Should I get some cat milk for them ?

Should I start litter training them as mum is still doing it at the moment
Also how do I litter train them (I know I've been told before but I have a brain like a siv)

Anybody. ?

The guidance in that link MumnGran gave you is still really good, crazy. If the boys aren't taking to things, I wouldn't worry too much as aptitude can vary between kits and you may find that they're only a day or two behind their sister.

One thing I'd say though. Are you absolutely certain that they're not getting the odd fly drink still from Mom when you're not watching? I'd be surprised if she'd completely closed the milk bar already - and there's a lot of difference between being 'not interested' and 'interested but incompetent'. If I had to guess, I'd say it was likely that they're still feeding some. Otherwise, it's more likely that they would be trying and mucking around. And mewing a lot!

She is only letting one feed ( I noticed this past hour) & when the other two try to she runs off

Ah - so she hasn't withdrawn privileges altogether, just going for some tough love. (Trying to encourage them towards independence.) Maybe give them an assist in the wee small hours or tomorrow morning ? The two laggards must be real close to eating themselves though.

What are you giving them? And have you put it in a nice shallow big dish? (Your floors will be a mess for a day or two.)

Keep cool. They're a good age and - I assume - all healthy. Have you weighed them?

Not weighed them , they are visibly getting bigger fatter
They are at the vets Thursday for their first check up

I'd let the situation develop until mid-morning tomorrow. Just make sure that the kitten glop is good and fresh - and gloppy - and give them the occasional steer towards it. Perhaps put some on your finger and let them lick/get used to the taste etc.
