Pooing in own garden

That sums it up really. Didn't think they were supposed to do that, but one of our cats does, mostly on the lawn beside the kids' climbing frame Vet didn't really have any advice - has anyone here experienced this and found a solution? Thanks in advance

Do you have any neighbours - because they may have got fed up with discovering your cats' poos in their own garden(s) and taken preventative measures - as they're absolutely entitled to do.

You're responsible for cleaning up the poo from your own cats so if I were you, I'd try instituting a litter tray or two (inside, or outside if you have shelter) and also digging up any earth beds you have to make some nice, friable surfaces for him/them to dig in.

Can you come live near me, sick of picking it up in my bloody garden, or my dog eating it, then having to keep her away from my 21 month old ds!!

One of the great advantages of having either a house cat or a cat who prefers to do their duty in a litter tray inside. (As at least two of mine have, despite being cats who went out.) No confrontations with neighbours, clear responsibility for the poo and a good knowledge of how well or otherwise the cat might be.

Sorry, should have given some more background info. We have 2 litter trays (we also have a second cat who prefers to stay indoors most of the time), and we live in the country so options for other places to poo not so much neighbours gardens but woodlands and fields.

Put some of their dirty litter where you want them to go? We encouraged ours to go behind a tree at the end of the garden.

Then he may not have a pleasant place to poo outside your boundaries, stanisdead - perhaps the ground outside is hard or he feels safer inside the garden. Have you got any earth to which you could redirect his attention?
