Hey all, the lovely big boy is home. Caged and not liking the prison I have made for him but safe and hopefully healing.

Photo on my profile - he is dyed blue (very tasteful) and ignoring the fact he has metal pins and plates all along his leg and laying on it all as if it's nothing.

Back to the orthopedic vet in 6 weeks but weekly checks in the meantime at our vets. Just hoping and praying he gets full use back of his leg as he loves to jump, climb and explore.

The cage is next to my bed. I am laptopping in bed so he has company at least.

Too bloody perky for a feline versus car survivor! No wonder I didn't clue there was a problem. Have popped dreamies and dry freeze chicken treats through the mesh which were met with enthusiasm, as was dinner, water etc.

Oh, handsome huntercat! Wishing him a speedy recovery, though I'm pretty sure mine would hop into a cage in a heartbeat if there were dreamies involved... :)

And don't be tempted to let him out without vet clearance! After a few days he'll be making big eyes at you and you'll want to so so badly. But you mustn't.

He is already trying that. The soulful look of longsuffering in the face of hard hearted humans.

He looks delighted to be home. Love that you've got the crate next to your bed - I'd do the same.

I've bought whiskas for my prisoner. He has drugs to take for pain relief and needs them with food. It's the only food I can guarantee he will finish every last morsel of!

He will be even more sulky when drug week ends and he has to go back to cheaper food.

Draft excluder attached to cage, blankets covering 75% of wire overnight, vents on windows shut. He is sleeping on an old duvet and 4 blankets. I'd get a basket but he likes to stretch out really long and there isnt room for a huge basket and litter and food/water.

Still wish he was layin:g on my feet as normal

Where are his dancing girls and flute players?

The kids have been playing recorder to him ... but that's more akin to Guantanamo than soothing. Dancing girls .... hmm, now dancing birds, moles, mice, rabbits, shrews, frogs - they'd be a big hit.

4am the dawn chorus was met again with cries of longing from cat and readjustment of ear plugs from me.

I can post a dead rat to him .

Yup.

Pets at home do a squeaky mouse, that would be hours of fun for hunter cat, nothing like a toy that sounds like its in distress.
