Good vibes needed for my kitty

The vet found a lump in her mouth today, she has to go back for a biopsy, but the vet thinks it's cancer and the prognosis is not good. Sad

Who can guess why, eh? Some things are beloved, some not. You could always try breaking up some dreamies if you have a spare packet left, I suppose. Any hammers handy?

Best of luck during the week.

QueenStromba · 12/05/2013 17:15

Aw :(

My kitty would be distraught if she couldn't eat her dreamies. Glad to hear she's eating well though, please do keep us updated on how she's doing.

hugoagogo · 14/05/2013 17:04

OMG! I have had the results, not Cancer!

The vet thinks it's some sort of inflamitary condition, but she will need more tests. Still serious, but treatable.

I am pathetically relieved, I love that cat.

Well done her! You must be so pleased hugo - what a weight off your shoulders.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/05/2013 17:22

Phew! Well done puss.

QueenStromba · 14/05/2013 20:38

That's great news. Omega3 and cutting out gluten are good for reducing inflammation in humans - it might be worth trying her on a gluten free food like Butcher's Classic and spoiling her with the odd bit of salmon.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 14/05/2013 21:20

Glad Smile to hear that. Go kitty!

hugoagogo · 14/05/2013 21:30

I will look out for the butchers choice, I have only seen the dog version, but I live in hope. Grin

Part of me thinks I should be a bit miffed with my vet for being so negative-I really felt that I had a few months, at most, ahead of nursing her to her decline.

But I am not-I am just amazingly and relieved and chuffed, like that man in the story who finally gets rid of all the farm animals in his house.Wink

So there is another lump.

The lab has looked at the sample again and it seems the vet was right in the first place, it's cancer and there's nothing they can do.

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2013 16:17

Oh no, what a terrible mistake on the labs part.

What will you do now?

hugoagogo · 07/06/2013 19:47

Just love her and look after her, until the time comes that she's not happy any more and we have to have her put to sleep. Sad

She seems ok just now thankfully.

cozietoesie · 07/06/2013 20:18

Yep - you said it. Just love her and look after her.......

cozietoesie · 08/06/2013 14:55

How is she doing, hugo?

hugoagogo · 08/06/2013 17:48

She seems happy-laying in the sunshine and getting fussed.

Her purr is so loud, but I know it's not good.

The other lump is under her chin and somehow pressing on her optic nerve, so her pupils are uneven. Which is why the vet got the sample retested.

She's keen to eat, but I don't think she's getting much of it down her-it splats all over the floor. I give her pieces of grated cheese, but if she drops them she can't pick them up again and she nearly always drops them. Sad

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 08/06/2013 17:53

Oh blast and heck at the dropping food - but great at the purring.

Is it time for the vet, hugo, while she's purring and happy?

cozietoesie · 08/06/2013 17:55

Sorry- I'm assuming that's a pleasure purr. You can get stress purrs of course.

hugoagogo · 08/06/2013 18:32

That's what I am worried about, but she seems her usual self and even rolls around on her back and chases her pom poms; so not time yet, but I do know that it won't be that long.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 08/06/2013 18:41

Sounds as if she's still happy hugo. You know her best.

hugoagogo · 11/06/2013 20:29

So, she has hardly eaten anything since saturday and a lot of that she has coughed up.

She wouldn't try the prescription pate, mashed up with wate or plain.

I will take her in the morning to be put to sleep, I don't know how I am going to find the strength. Sad

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 11/06/2013 20:38

So very sorry, hugo. You'll find it from somewhere.

cozietoesie · 12/06/2013 09:47

Thinking of you and for you, hugo. Sad

hugoagogo · 12/06/2013 11:25

Thanks cozie she's not suffering any more.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 12/06/2013 11:29

Sad.

Well done for keeping it together for her.
