Kitpuss is sneezing :(

Littlest puss is sneezing this evening, no watery eyes or snot and no inner eyelid showing, and she's had her jabs, fur all smooth and not tatty-ill-puss looking, no need to worry, right??

Has she been anywhere particularly dusty?

Yes, we had the floorboards up earlier...but I'd been thinking shemight have sneezed once or twice but not still now, 7 hrs later. Could it just be that??!

mmmm yes 7 hours is a bit long to rid her nose of dust..but it does sound like it may have set it off.

I would give it a couple of days and monitor. If she still seems happy and active and isn't off her food and doesn't have runny eyes then you probably don't need to worry.

Thanks cn, she's had a few sneezes in the night but seems bouncy this morning. I'll keep an eye on her today :)

Hi Kitbit, one of mine had a full blown cat cold - sneezing,runny nose and watery eyes - I was petrified it was dreaded cat flu and after a day like this rushed her to the vets. They took her temperature (Twinkle will never forgive me for THAT ) checked his other vitals and announced "its a cold, £70 please" Oh and he had pet echinacia injection which cost about the same. They said to come back for another one in 3 days.

Went home, did some googling and found you could buy the drops for about £5 including PandP. Bought them, he recovered before they arrived

They can sneeze and get minor snuffles just like us - its another thing to set us worrying about the darn things [smiles]

Ours was sneezing with a bit of eye gunk a couple of weeks ago but seemed fine otherwise and it went away by itself in a couple of days. We had a bit of a sniffle at the same time so she must have picked it up from us - serves her right for sticking her nose in our noses really :)

Thanks Dobby, Stromba, she's been a bit quiet today but not snotty thankfully. I'll bear in mind the ££££ vet bill, aarghh!
