My Cat has gone crazy!

Is it full moon? Since his accident and subsequent amputation last year KnottyCat has been a bit of a homebody, and ever so slightly lazy, but for the past fortnight he's been like a thing possessed!

Today he has:

Climbed the curtains,
attacked me and dh,
taken a chunk out of my toe,
Decimated dd's foam fish for the bath, literally shredded them
Run round the house like a demented thing every hour or so
Leapt at me from the litter tray spraying pebbley stuff everywhere

And generally behaved like the mad kitten he was 5 years ago....any suggestions?

spring fever he has seen that big yellow globe in the sky

either that or he has a secret stash of catnip somewhere

But there was still snow on the ground when this started...must be the catnip then
