Funny cat story I heard today.

My boss said today that she has this Siamese with 'a bit of an attitude.' This manifested itself recently when someone came to her house and gave her a beautiful bunch of flowers. According to boss, cat just stared at the visitor for the duration of the visit, mouth open, eyes narrowed.

Boss went out with guest to say goodbye and returned to find the cat methodically shredding every single petal of every single flower. She said she could almost feel the malevolence coming from the cat!

Yes it's a bit childish and yes I did think "ooh I hope there were no lilies" but the image of this cat destroying the flowers in a jealous rage really made me smile!

Siamese are very intelligent and a bit proprietorial by all accounts... My cousin's Siamese is completely unhinged (launches itself flying into her dinner, sits on top of curtain rails)...

One of our boys, many moons ago, used to relish my aunt coming to visit. (My aunt hated cats - she had this phobia about fur, said it felt to her like chalk grating on blackboard sounded.)

He would sit waiting by the door with this evil grin on his face - and the minute she sat down, would launch himself into her lap. (If not previously contained somewhere.) My Mum, who wasn't deep down a Siamese person, would say wonderingly 'He's always so unsociable with anyone else!'

My cat often sits on a a wheelie bin at the top of the street.

I met the householder yesterday, apparently she doesn't just sit on the bin, she taps on the window for food and follows him to the shop to buy food if he hasn't got any!

Wen she had her vaccinations in January I was asking the vet about her developing pot belly - I don't want her to get fat and she is a small cat to start with.

Now I know it wasn't the odd bit of chicken I was giving her.

She got caught in the Kitchen the other day, she is not allowed in the kitchen unsupervised as she jumps on the worktops.

So I opened the door, the cat was in the kitchen. She walked out, without making eye contact, wandered across the room without making eye contact, behind the settee, without making eye contact.

She then came out from behind the settee at the other side, looked at me, and jumped up to be adored.

I don't know is she thought I couldn't see her if she didn't look at me, or was pretending she was a different cat.

sashh that's hilarious I love cat characters, there used to be a beautiful striped grey tabby who lived at the back of us who will always be fondly remembered for gate crashing dd's 10th birthday party through the kitchen window . More loony cat stories please! Wish I knew a Siamese.

I'm convinced that they think if they can't see you, you can't see them.

Aaahaha!! Sassh, yes, I am absolutely convinced they think you'll be fooled if they scarper away then re-emerge looking beautiful and cuddle-some.

Had a cat once who loved his own way. Shredded car tyres when DM wouldn't let him in at once. Sprayed up DS's leg when she didn't see to his needs immediately. Also a different cat who shredded a yellow pages in a fit of rage!

Our old cat Frank was amazing. We taught him to fetch, and sit. He used to play tag too, where he would swat your ankle and leg it. You'd have to chase him through the house, tap his bum and he'd skid to a halt and chase you again. So funny! I do remember he was watching me eat a roast, glaring at my chicken with intent. I had one eye on him but he was across the room. Suddenly he launched himself at great speed at my plate, sailing over it grabbing the chicken on his way over! Straight under the table, growling and eating it as fast as he could. I was laughing so hard at the sheer cheek that I let him keep it. Great cat, sorry to lose him!

This evening I heard some clattering around in the kitchen, went to investigate... found nothing. A little later I went into the living room to find the cat sitting on the settee, wearing the lid from a can of tuna on her collar magnet
