How can i tell if my Cat is pregnant ??

I have 3 cats one is 8 months & two are 6/7 months , due to finances I have not been able to get them neutered though have them booked in for the 18th .
I'm just concerned as to whether the female may be pregnant & if so is there a way I can tell ?

I think you are meant to be able to gently squeeze their nipples and if they are pregnant they will leak a little bit of milk.

Disclaimer this may well be a myth!!

If she is pregnant the vet may offer an abortion as well as neutering.

Get her spayed now. That way if she is pregnant then she won't be for long. If it's not completely obvious that she's pregnant then there is no problem getting her spayed now. You need to get them all done now. If you are on benefits then you can get vouchers from various places including Cats Protection to get them done. If you're in London they can be done at Celia Hammonds for only £5 if you are on a low income. Please do not bring any more cats into the world. Even if you can find homes for them you are effectively using up homes that could go to other unwanted cats. Basically every cat that's born means that another one will end up having to be put down just because there are not enough homes to go round. Please, please don't add to the numbers.

They don't go further than my garden .
The younger 2 brother & sister were abandoned by my house & after informing the rspca etc I was told if they were not claimed within 2-3 weeks they would of been pts Sad
I basically hand reared them & at the time I got them I could afford to neuter them etc but circumstances change !
All 3 are booked in to be neutered on the 18th .
Love been judged like this Hmm

My cats are well looked after fed & very much loved .
They have all had their injections as well

Heffalump, as long as you take them all in for neutering on the 18th then it's fine and no harm has been done. You don't need to know if she's pregnant because you are going to get her neutered anyway. It would be irresponsible to say that if she is pregnant then you want her to have the kiittens, that would be bad for her (assuming you don't want to keep all the kittens yourself, as cats form very strong attachments to their kittens and find separation from them very, very traumatic) and it would be bad for cats in general, as I've already said.

You have done a very good thing by looking after them when they were abandoned and I'm sorry you feel you've been bashed on here (although I do understand Korma's frustration - try spending a bit of time in a cat charity and you too will be exasperated by many irresponsible people), but this is not the case here. Just take them all in for neutering as planned and then everything will be fine.

Oh my days seriously , I asked a question & I'm now getting flamed for god knows what reason , They are booked in to be neutered its not like I'm never getting them neutered.

The younger 2 are only a month past the 5 month age restriction to be neutered .
Oh & why am I getting yelled at for there been thousands of homeless cats out there , It's not my fault Hmm

Thanks Thecatneuterer , I have volunteered several times in Cats Paws charity shop where I live so I do know how bad it is with all the homeless Cats

I haven't yelled at you .... but I do hope you'll still get her done whether or not you have a suspicion she may be pregnant.

I was just curious as her behaviour has changed as in she is much mire cuddly now & I won't be letting her have kittens as she is far to young Thanks

Unfortunately cats can breed from 4-5 months old but not a lot of people know this. And people also don't realise that brothers and sisters will mate.

Getting her neutered while pregnant may cost a bit more than normal, but If it is a brother and sister mating the kittens may have genetic problems If the pregnancy is allowed to continue.

Hope they all get sorted and you won't have to worry about this again :).
