... and has cornered it behind the wardrobe in the spare bedroom. I have locked offending cat in the room, but beyond that WTF can I do?

(I'm not 100% sure whether the rat is a mutant, but it's flippin' big!)

I killed a rat once. It was my friend's pet. I was at hers for a sleepover. I tried to pet it, it bit me and then the next morning when we woke, it was deadSad I SWEAR I didn't do anything to it. I just must be poisonous to rats.

I've been bitten/pecked by lots of different animals. The rat was the only one to die.

Vicar, my sister has those pictures on her Facebook too, and she like the Pol Pot or Hitler insert preferred genocidal maniac here of rats and mice. I forgive her though, because she's probably going to cure cancer or summat. Grin

That is cute Vicar my old tabby is a bit past the rat-catching now. The ones we used to get (thankfully, outdoors) were not clutching teddies, mind Grin

For those of you who are Friends of the Small Furry Ones - the sticky boards remain untouched by rodent paw. Another quiet night in the House of Rat, and although I have walked (gingerly) around every room bashing things loudly, accompanied by bastard cat (hoping her ratdar would seek anything out) ratty didn't break cover. So we're back to the happy ending of the window jump, or ratty has breathed his last somewhere in the house, in which case I will no doubt be smelling him in a day or so. No strange noises from the walls / ceiling either.

Did wake up in the middle of the night imagining I saw ratty on my windowsill - slept with the light on after that!

He's probably long gone Sarah.

There was a rat at the end of my garden yesterday... Poor thing has no idea how much danger he's in picking my garden, my cats are proven rat murderers extraordinaire. He was quite cute and not of the mutant variety

Thanks for those kind thoughts Debbylou, but he didn't look the cuddly type!

All quiet in the House of Rat last night, and the night before. No strange smells, so hopefully he did take his chances out of the window rather than curling up and expiring behind a wardrobe.

I am still not talking to bastard cat.
