Anyone lost a cat in Wiltshire?

We found a lovely little cat today, it appeared at our office door as we were finishing for the day. We took it to the vets, it is skin and bone and starving but looks bright and is strong for something so thin.
She is microchipped, aged 13 and called Milly apparently. The vets tried to contact the owner but neither numbers worked . Big microchip fail, seems pointless if people dont keep their info up to date.
The vets wouldn't take it, and cats protection had no room so she has come home with us and is settled on DD's bed .

If any one has any knowledge of a missing cat please DM me. She is so sweet, and although not ideal (allergic DH and lots of dogs) we will keep her if her owner doesn't come forward.

go onto cat chat.org im sure there is a lost and found section on there and if you are on facebook there are pages where you can advertise that you have found a cat i know several people have been reunited this way but if anyone does turn up claiming the cat ask for photograph if possible and the original owners should have paperwork with her chip number on it check against the number the vet should have given you, and get in touch with all local cat rescues they usually keep a database of found and lost cats

That poor cat. I do update our cats chip when we move and I've put his allergies on too.

Dh is allergic to cats but he got used to the cat (you try re-homing a late 40's husband, none of the shelters wanted him) after a few weeks of streaming eyes.

You could try ringing the local shelters too, I don't suppose they could release the name of the owners could they. Perhaps the vets could try directory enquiries or 192.com.

The weird thing is she has gone missing in Wiltshire, but we are in Hampshire. I will try putting up some posters locally, someone might know something. The vets of course couldn't give us any information.
DH hasnt been sneezing too much so I hope if I try to keep her off the beds all will be well!

if she is in hampshire and came from wiltshire she could ahve hopped a lift on a van or been rehomed in hampshire or original owners have moved to hampshire, if you contact local rescues and let them know you are willing for the potential owners to have your phone number, the rescue i work at had a cat in recently, same thing phone number wasnt working, the rescue sent a recorded delivery letter to the address and the cat had gone missing 18 months before and the original owners still lived there, he ended up in kieghley and came from sheffield so one very happy owners came to pick him up

maybe if you wrote a letter and put a stamp on it maybe the vet would be willing to address it and post it to the registered address for you you never know
