Cat burned paw on Hob

My highly intelligent kitten decided that the very best place she could walk was over the cooker hob which I had just turned off. Tried to stop her, but didnt get to her in time.

She ran off and when I checked on her the pads on her paw were redder then the other ones but didn't seem to mind when I touched them. Tried to run her paw under cold water but just got gouged for my troubles.

She seems ok, she is putting weight on it, walking without a limp etc, not meowing or seeming in pain. Is there anything I should do or am I overreacting and she'll be fine?

if she seems fine, then she probably IS fine (I use this maxim for cats and children alike)

Always used to worry me that when I had electric cookers - one of the reasons I'm so firm about cats not going on kitchen surfaces.

If it was a few days ago (which I'm inferring) she should be fine if there are no obvious symptoms by now - and you may have an easier job than many here on training her not to go on surface in the future!

Just keep a general eye on her paws.

Mine did this, I put him outside straightaway as I reasoned the ground would be cold enough to stop the burning.

His paw peeled and I felt like a rubbish owner for ages.

Poor fluffy and fluffyboy! I've just been lucky in that regard.

If the paw was just pinkish and shows no signs of blistering or peeling - the kitten's got away with it, Laly. The newer hobs can heat up and cool down very quickly indeed.
