Moving house with a cat

I'm moving house in 5 weeks time. It's going to be 350 miles away. I'm also 25 weeks pregnant. I'm worried my 2 and a half year old cat won't settle. She loves being outside and gets upset when she can't get out. She'll have to cope with being shut in for a couple of weeks, a new house and eventually a new baby! She also doesn't like other animals and a cat and elderly dog live next door! I'm so worried about her!

She will be fine, when I younger my parents moved 200 miles and our cats coped.

Like you said you will need to keep her in for at least a week and then just see how she goes. As for the new baby, ime cats normally give babies a wide berth Grin personally I wouldn't stress about it.

She will be fine, I moved with 3 cats, 2 stay on one loved going out, I've been here since October and the going out cat has decided to stay in, she hasn't even tried to go out yet. She's quite happy, she lives in DS1 top bunk of his bed and wanders down here occasionally.

I've moved twice with my cat and he's been fine.
During the actual move, make sure you've got somewhere to keep her so she can't get out whilst removal men are coming and going. I kept mine is his cage and put it in the downstairs loo so he wasn't disturbed by things being moved about.
Then when it's all quiet, let her out in the house and give her time to sniff around and get her bearings.
My cat goes out all the time but he was quite happy to stay in the new house for a while. And when I did eventually let him out he was quite nervous to start with and didn't go far.
