How do your cats like the snow?

Mine spent most of yesterday afternoon crying for me to make it stop and eventually went out and did a sort of bunny hop.

I've put a litter tray down so she didn't have to go out. She went for her morning kitty adventure as usual this morning and came back quite soon.

My neighbours' cats are having great fun chasing each other and rolling in the snow. I'm sure they would throw snowballs if they had opposable thumbs.

Seniorcat (being a housecat) doesn't know what snow is and just heads between his electric blanket and the tray/feeding station until downstairs is warm.

The Lodger used to love it - stayed out for hours and did sort of bounds and hops in it.

Ours loved it but had to be persuaded physically dragged outside to go out in it at first.

Not deep enough for bunny hops here.

I think we had small mammals around - under it maybe. That may have motivated him!

They don't mind snow on ground, happy to play in it. They don't like cold or blowing snow. So in and out a lot.

Mine just looks a bit confused by it. He's a bit peeved his favouite watering hole (plant pot full of rain water) is frozen over though.

She prefers the blanket on the super king bed. Not daft our old girl!

The wee tabby quite likes playing in it till she gets old, my Siamese makes it pretty obvious that she thinks it's the work of Beelzebub...not only is it cold, but it's WET in disguise, oh and it's clearly my fault it's there

Scabbers saw it coming down this morning and started chattering his teeth so i let him into my tiny yard. He was fairly disgusted at the snow and immediately retreated to his wicker chair by the radiator. He hasnt bloody moved all day, except when i came in sodden after emergency tesco trek. He looked at me as if to say "have you been OUT in that? How foolish of you!"

She plays in it till she gets cold btw,obviously I am not psychic and don't know how old she'll be when or if she stops playing in it, lol

Mine is not impressed. He has taken to running manically in the house in frustrated energy. Very deep here so he keeps clinging to the edges of the garden then scuttling back in asap.

I think he'd be better if he wasn't a long haired - he comes in with clumps of snow and ice hanging from his belly.

And I thought he had the look of a Norwegian Forest Cat - ha!

Bauble cat does not like it at all! She prefers to go outside rather than use her tray but has done the kitty equivalent of crossing her legs for a few hours and then dashing out, meowing crossly as she does. Mind you, she is 19 now and she did fall head first into a snow drift earlier this week! A mysterious white thing shot past me into the kitchen shrieking loudly whilst I nearly wet myself laughing at her

Yes, my big NFC loves the snow as it was what he was built for.

I opened the back door at Her Majesty's request today. She looked nonplussed at the white and the cold, and retreated back to the warm.

But she went out about 10 minutes ago. There is no predicting cats!

Rufusal to go out while it's snowing yet facinated by the flakes falling. Cautious at first going out then bounding around from male cat. Female cat a bit more reticent but that's normal for them. In out in out all flipping day (cold blast of air for us every time). Black male appears not to have worked out that the white snow might mean the birds can see him a bit better.

Our cats really don't like it, another lot heading back to the radiators .
On the other hand, both Rabbits are out in it, in fact i think they have been out all night, after I almost gave myself frostbite filling up the hutches with nice warm straw and hay !

Yep, Bauble kitty is doing well at 19! Probably helps that she had always preferred being snuggled up indoors to being outside! And, as I found out the other day, if DH leaves out something she fancies, she can get up to the kitchen work top in one big jump!

Having great fun out there today, leaping around pretending dark shapes are a mouse. I'm surprised not to see Cat2 rolling around it the stuff.

Mine was doing a weird tiptoeing walk, so his feet didn't get wet.
