Dental cover on policy?

Hello,
I've got a gorgeous tabby and white 13 week old kitty and have been looking at pet insurance. I've wasted so much time looking at it, all the ins and outs etc and my brain is very foggy now!
I think I'm going to do a lifetime policy (up to 7k of vets fees) the other stuff seems all much of a muchness, but do i need dental cover? Most that do offer seem to only cover accidental damage, which i suppose with a kitten could be sensible maybe??
Do i need more than that? she's not going to have decaying teeth and gum disease yet so is there any point? can I switch to another policy when older that will cover her?

Look for a lifetime cover, maybe? If your pet is on an ordinary policy and develops an ongoing condition, they will pay for the first year but it may be excluded in further years. Also be very wary about changing providers mid-life. Any conditions claimed for with your old provider may be classed as pre-existing, and so excluded with your new policy. Dental disease is more common in older pets but younger ones do get it too.

thank you Bubbles, I thought as much re the changing policies, just hope if i stick with one insurer and am unable to shop around (due to any conditions claimed for) the premium doesn't go through the roof as she gets older. At lease with other types of insurance you can always switch and get a better deal!
