DH has just taken lovely PantryCat#1 to the vet and I am sat here fearing the worst.

He had an operation about amonth ago and is still on heavy duty antibios to try and clear an infection but he has been off his food fr 24 hours and suddenly looks very old and ill.

He is the loveliest cat you can imagine and I am scared that he won't come home

Sad

I hope he's ok, maybe just needs heavier duty antibiotics?

Such a worry when a much loved pet is ill Sad

Thank you.

DH has just phoned to say they have given him antibiotic jabs and rehydrated him - we will have to syringe water into him as it is possible he isn't drinking enough and the antibiotics are irritating his stomach but the good news is he can come home.

Poor cat, he is such a lovely purring affectionate cat.

Bless him, he'll be feeling better after being rehydrated. Smile

Hope he makes a good recovery - how old is he?

We're not sure how old he is - we've had him 7 years, he was a rescue cat who had been abandonned. Apparantly his family were moving house so they drove to the rubbish tip, threw him out and left him. He made his way home but of course they had gone so he ended up with the CPL.

The vet estimates that he is between 10 and 14. He certainly looked like a little old cat today.

Poor Boy! I'm sure he's feeling lots better and will get over this setback.
Lots of cuddles required! Smile

Fingers crossed he'll be back on form soon.

Thank you all, he's home now.

He's sulking - he has just comandeered the chair by the radiator (having pushed SmallDog off).
BogDog is very worried about him and has bought all her toys over and put them infront of him - he is displaying cat-distain to her bones but she means well.

He's also pointedly ignoring DH (who took him to the vet) but I am being allowed to stroke him.

He has to go back to the vet on Wednesday so fingers crossed.
