Small bald spot on cat - seems to be growing

At first I thought the little bald patch on the neck of my 16 year old DCat was the result of a scrap. But now it seems to have got slightly bigger - is now the size of a 5p piece, though you can still only see it when cat is sleeping in the right position.

It doesnt seem to hurt, might have a tiny pink dot in centre (not sure, cat moves to see what I'm doing!), no fur seems to be growing back. Could it be fungal?

Without seeing it, it's difficult to say - is he scratching or off colour in any way?

I'd have him to the vet to look at it. If you're sharp, you should be able to get him in before Xmas.

Could be ringworm which is contagious, my vet did a skin scraping to check for this (was negative thankfully)

Has the cat had any antibiotic injections recently? Sometimes these can cause fur loss, it's happened with two of my cats.

Vet says it's an allergy, and has given her a shot. Return next Thurs.

But allergy to what, I wonder? Wood based cat litter? or Dreamies? those are the only fairly recent changes in her life.

All the fur dropped out around her neck and its never grown back

Have you changed the flea medication you use?

I just comb her out with a nit comb, she rarely gets them these days as is apparently spending most of her time reliving her life in dreamland She does go out, but not for very long, including, often, last thing at night - and gets rewarded with Dreamies when she comes in again for being a brave pussycat as it's been so cold and/or wet.
