Best litter tray for kittens?

When I last had a kitten-there was only a choice of red or blue, now there are whole shelves of them in Pets at home! Covered/uncovered? Corner/not corner? High edges/low edges? Filter/no filter?

Any tips!? Kittens will only be 9 weeks, so will they be able to master the 'cat flap' style ones or one with high edges!!? Would just a simple one be better? Are the covered ones good at hiding any smell or are they just difficult to clean!?

I've always just gone with the standard simple rectangular tray, grandma - with clumping cat litter cleaned religiously. They've always seemed to like and use thos fine. (And some cats plain don't like the covered ones, maybe because the smell is sometimes trapped inside the covering.) Perhaps someone who has used the covered type can give you a view on them.

My instinct is that they're far more likely to be fussy about the type of litter than about the type of tray itself - so is may be a case of suck it and see.
