Thoroughly ticked off with ticks

I have just removed one the size of a baked bean off my boy, I kid you not. I swear it wasn't there yesterday. I feel soooo grossed out. It was so big it fell off the removal gizmo and I had to chase it around the kitchen!

....chase it around the kitchen ....?

Where on earth do you live? (So that I know not to visit!)

Ok, 'chase' was possibly a minor exaggeration, but it managed to crawl a whole floor tile (foot square) while I was trying to pick it up with that flipping tiny tool again because I just could not bear the thought of feeling it through kitchen towel

I've had cats and dogs before, but until this year I have never had to deal with a tick problem!

They are minging insects.
