we have 2 kittens, just turned 5 months (so a jolly trip to the vet in store for them soon!) They currently have Royal Canin kitten food, wet & dry - they like it fine so far & seem very healthy with lovely glossy fur.

After spaying they will go on to the RC Sterilised/Neutered dry food. The kitten wet food is supposed to be suitable for up to 12 months, but I've been looking on Zooplus at the meaty ones like Animonda & Bozita & wonder if I should switch them on to that, or leave them on it until they are fully grown & then switch?

(The RC doesn't give a full breakdown of the meat content & it does include cereal.)

I would switch them now rather than wait...

You might have to do it gradually depending on what they prefer but Grau, animonda etc are all good foods and you don't need a kitten variety either....

Mine are 7 months and have been eating those foods since June ..... Got them very small (6 weeks) and kept them on whiskas for a while as that was what they had been weaned on....

They haven't looked back since I switched food and are active, happy kittens now Grin solid thugs springs to mind too Wink

oh dear, I've just ordered another month's worth! (special offer at PetsatHome)

once most of that has gone I'll start switching them over then

thank you Smile
