Litter tray advice

Hi there, my kittens have been going outside for the last few weeks and so Ive started putting the tray outside. They seem reluctant to use it and use it when I bring it back in in the evening. Is this normal, should I take it completely away? Ive had cats before and Im sure they just started going to the toilet in the garden straight away?

My cat took ages to learn, he used to go in to use the litter tray and get distressed if we didnt let him in straight away.

He eventually learnt.

If only they just shat in your own garden though deb9!
I'd leave them use the litter tray to be honest, it's not very neighbourly is it, to let them do their stinky poos in someone else's garden, if they turn up their noses at yours?

Would you let a dog do this?

I can second that! I have 2 little girl cats. They were kept as indoor cats until about 10mths then it took them about 2mths for them to get the hang of going to the loo outside. It was quite gradual but we just started to notice that their tray didn't need changed as often. Huge relief and now saving money on cat litter! xx
