The magic of microchips

Today a beautiful cat was returned safe and well to his owners after 5.5years all down to his microchip. If you haven't had your cat chipped yet please consider it.
Last week we had a lovely girl cat who again is safe and well, but we don't know who to call. So she will probably end up in a new home.

Hear, hear - and it's really not that expensive.

Best of luck to the unchippedone in finding a new home.

They must have given up hope of finding him after 5 years. Did he still know them?.

It ought to be mandatory but who's going to police it?.

the rescue i work at routinely microchips all the cats and kittens that are rehomed recently we reunited a boy who had been missing from sheffield for over a year and ended up in kieghley ! his owners were delighted to get him back one very happy reunion,

a shame that councils dont have microchips when my georgous british short hair garfield got run over the council picked him up and when i phoned they said they hadnt, and it took me 9 days to find out what had happened to him, if they owned a scanner and had scanned him i would have found out that day,

so simple to chip and solves a lot of problems especially when stray cats come into a rescue, but they work better if people who move house update thier details, we had a lovely female cat come in, she was chipped , no answer on the phone, so we wrote to the address no answer, so being as i live near there i went in person and the lady who had 2 or 3 cats had moved 3 months before the neighbours knew area but not actual address, if that lady had updated her details we could have reunited them, sadly we couldnt and though the cat went to a fabulous home the lady who originally owned her will forever wonder where her cat went
