Can I feed my kittens?

Both kittens going to vets first thing to be neutered (one male, one female - don't know why that might make a difference!). Does anyone know if I can give them breakfast before they go or are they like humans and need to be nil by mouth before op?

Take food away at midnight and water only I'm afraid. They need to be starved as can regurgitate under anaesthetic otherwise.

Nope no food from 8pm tonight but can have water until the morning
