Going away over night (Me, not the cats)

As title says - going away over night tomorrow. Will leave tomorrow at 2pm and will get home on Sunday at about 1pm. Is it ok to leave my two 3 year old cats alone? Have a cat flap - will leave extra food and water. Should I get someone to pop by or will they be ok? (they are not sociable and will run a mile from strangers)

I only have onto cat but for trips of less than three nights, I put out a load of food and water, clean litter tray, open all the doors and just lock him in the house. I don't have a catflap. He seems quite happy with this arrangement, usually emerges blinking from my bed as if to berate me for disturbing his peace and equilibrium. Grin

One cat.

Stupid autocorrect. Angry

They would hate being locked in I think - they have not used a litter tray for over a year (even though I have one) ..thanks for the advice !!

In my experience, if they're not sociable, best to leave them just by themselves for such a short absence with plenty of food and water. You might be as well to leave a litter tray down though just in case your absence makes them more inclined to stick to home. Wouldn't do any harm.

We have 2 cats and if we go away for the weekend we just leave them with plenty of food and water. They have a cat flap. They are fine. Anything longer than 2 nights we get a neighbour to feed and water them.

I do the same with my cat if just over night and she is socialable. Jusrt leave plenty of dry and wet food plus water. We have a cat flap and she is always fine when we come back. If it was more than I night I would ask someone to come in to put down fresh food and water but 1 night is fine.
