Cat hair in clean laundry

Hi all,
Anyone got any ideas please on how to stop my fresh laundry coming out of the dryer with cat hair STILL all over it?
I used to go over most things with a lint roller after washing but the hair seems ingrained so this was never that successful, and anyway I have not got time to do this now with a 5 month old son and don't like seeing cat hair on his sheets/clothes.
At the moment we use non-bio washing liquid and gentle fabric softener, on a high heat wash. Then everything is tumble dryed unless it is a very sunny day and I get the washing out of the machine before the sun is going down (very rare). We clean our lint filter in the tumble dryer atleast every half load.
We have 3 cats, and I know they produce a lot of hair, which is always going to be everywhere in the house. I would just like it if my clothes looked clean as well as smelling clean when they came out of the wash!
P.s. our cats are on high quality cat food, and get groomed daily when they're feeling well behaved to try and minimalise cat hair around the house.

Sorry - you have cats, you're going to get some hair around. The worst of it can be removed by vacuuming, grooming and lint on anything real posh that you're about to wear out. The rest goes with the territory, I'm afraid.

And don't buy black!

At least I'm not on my own with this I suppose. Will be deep cleaning washing machine and dryer soon so this may help hopefully. I just don't understand the de-cat hairing solutions on the web that say 'put cat throws on everything then shove in the wash when they're covered'. Has never helped me!

Tumble drying removes fur. ime.

Are you washing cat covers in the washer?
I decided to stop as everything that went in afterwards got gingered.
I am now using up old dust sheets cut up for the cat's bed.
He's moulting his ginger hair all over just now though. He's started to turn and run when he sees me with the cat brush.

Tumble dryer is the only thing that works. I sympathise. We have two exotic Persians - lots of hair.

Ofmenandmice - We used to wash them in the machine until they got COVERED (had our cats for about a year and the throws were beyond saving after about a month!), so I just pour boiling water over them in the sink every now and again and leave them to dry outside now and hoover. probably should get some new ones thinking about it, good idea about the dust sheets. And I understand how hard it is to brush an unwilling cat!

Panda - all of ours are long haired - 2 persians, 1 mog. And the persians were rescues who hate being brushed with a passion. Just starting to get their trust now after a year which equals a hell of a lot of loose hair flying around from when they refused and I think that's when the 'hair covering everywhere' damage was done! :( They're worth it though!

i have to wear a black uniform for work and what works for me removing the hairs from my four cats is a rubber marigold glove on one hand and when ive ironed a section i brush the hairs down towards the bottom of the item of clothing, its hard work but it works the hairs are caught by the rubber glove, saw it once on one of these super cleaner programs
