I have an appointment at the vets tomorrow but i'm not sure if its needed so asking for a bit of advice. The corner of my cats eyes (nearest nose) has a "third eyelid" I can cover about a 3rd of his eye. I've noticed it before when he has just woke up but this is almost all the time. Is it a sign of dehydration? (i've just read that) Should i still take him to vets? Really dont want to waste the vets (or my) time if its normal. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, im just typing as it comes to my head lol.

It can be a sign of several things. I'd take him to the vet. How old is he?

Yep you need the vet, I've been told that they used to think it meant an infection, now they're leaning towards it indicating stomach issues - that's of course if it's not his eyes that are the problem.

Basically though, it means he's not feeling well.

He's just gone a year old. He's been fine in himself, no different to normal but think i'll definitely take him.
Thanks.

At that age it's just possible that it might be something called Haw syndrome which clears itself up but you should still take him to the vet in case it's something else, particularly when it seems to be getting worse. (Even with Haw syndrome, he might be experiencing irritation from the third eyelid coming over - which the vet might issue meds for until he recovers.)

Good luck with him.
