I has a kitten!!

A friend of mine has a lady cat who had a litter of kittens in July. My baby Rigby arrived this evening - he's the spit of number 1 kitten (Tiger who is nearly 1)

Both of them are black, but Rigby has blue eyes. He's ever so relaxed, he's eaten, sat on my knee, purred and is now having a nice nap. Those are all good signs aren't they?

He's come from a home with kids, other cats, dogs etc so he's very well socialised. He's utterly adorable. Is having a new kitten grounds for early retirement?

How is baby kitty getting on with nearly 1yo kitty?

Early July - mum cat has had a hard time (retained kitten, hysterectomy etc) and Rigby is the 'runt' and needs a bit of extra care.

We found Tiger when he was 4 weeks old, so we are used to teeny kittens who need a bit of extra help.

Tiger and Rigby have met! Tiger licked him all over, patted him a few times, drank Rigbys milk and sat in his litter tray!!!

Sounds all good then.

Rigby has been exploring - he's killed a toy mouse and attempted to stalk our house rabbit He's quite at home!!

Hah! I detect a besotted new owner.

He is rather lovely!

I got a kitten today too. The kids have called her Amy. She is ginger with a bit of white. Absolutely gorgeous! She was rescued by the RSPCA and is not socialised with humans but she is gaining confidence very quickly. I showed her to my 15 year old neutered male cat and he just turned round, ate her food and walked off! I'm keeping them apart at the moment but boy cat doesn't seem in the slightest bit interested. Mind you, he used to let loads of other cats share his kitchen at night.
Amy is now sleeping in her new bed.

Rigby has ignored his nice new cat basket and is sleeping under DD1s bed. Tiger has been great, he and Rigby have been playing. Rigby was stalking Tiger! It's gone better than I thought, but I'm being very vigilant.

Yay! I love happy kitty stories!

They are sleeping together!!! Both curled up on the sofa!!! I can't believe it. My two little black cats like each other.

Well most large cats get on well with kittens - and Tiger's really only a kitten himself at that age so probably relishing having a friend back to cuddle with.

Sounds like all will be fine from now on.

Shall i get another one? Will I have enough love for 2? Will my Pops get jealous?

That sounds to me like whistling in the wind crazynanna. I suspect you of already having been on the website of the local shelter!

Hah! I knew it !

My new kitten has been having loads of cuddles all evening. She is so cute! Boy cat has persisted in ignoring her but I'm not complaining.

Rigby has found his voice. His little chirps and squeaks are adorable - I'd give him anything!! He was all snuggled up with Tiger again last night.
