Just thought i would ask here before another stressful trip to the vets is needed (which i cant afford).

Poor Iggy had his tail taken off almost 2 months ago, sinse then he has had an abcess on his stump and now has dry flaky skin abovehis stump which looks realy sore. Afew days ago his mouth swelled up and is quite puffy, it seems to be worse after her has eaten, i switched him to felix after he started turning his nose up at whiskers, he also has whiskers dry food at night. Dry food has often irritated his mouth but whiskers (up until now) has been ok.

So, does it sound like a food allergy causing the swelling? could it be his bowls (he uses plastic ones)? could this be causing the flacky skin on his back end?

What should i be feeding him? and should i try a different bowl (metal)?

He seems happy but looks horrid, i really cant afford to take him back to the vets as he has cost me over £600 in vets bills over the past 2 months.

you need someone like lizcat who is a vet nurse for this one, could be an abcess on his gums or a sting from a wasp as they are getting nasty at this time of year my neighbour got stung yesterday or a bad back tooth

Thanks issey, lizcat has givin me great advice in the past Smile, it could be a sting as he likes to chase wasps and bee's. I have changed his bowl to a metal one and i'm trying some different food (want to try everything before going to the vet).
