I met my new baby yesterday!!

A friend of mine has got a cat who had a litter of kittens 2 weeks ago and she's giving one of them to me!! My new baby is a little black kitten - identical to my current nearly 1 year old baby

I went round yesterday for a little look (and I might have given him a little cuddle too!!) We think he'll be ready to leave at the end of august, but we're going to play it by ear - he's the smallest of the litter and might need more mommy time. My friend said that I have to keep popping in to handle/cuddle him so that he gets used to me - how awful, having to make time to cuddle a teeny kitten

I'm sooooo excited!!

But, I just want to know how to effect the introduction between my current cat (nearly 1) and his little brother? He already shares our home with our house rabbit, so it's not like he's the only animal here. It would be nice if my two mini panthers were friendly though.

On another note, I can't believe that rescue centres are full of black cats because people are superstitious about them. I think black cats are the most beautiful of all cats

awww i love black cats the other cat depends on his personality i foster kittens for the rescue i work at and reactions from mine to the kittens have been, jasper became substitute dad he loves the kittens, jojo his sister forget it i aint having nothing to do with them there kittens, biscuit the biggest cat in the house is scared of them tiny little critters, and blue the half siamese sees them as lunch on legs and stalks them round the front room

Cat number 1 seems to get on well with the cats in our neighbourhood, he's not terribly territorial and not much of a fighter

You have my ideal job looking at cats/kittens all day!! It's sad though that rescues are needed
