Any ideas how to stop my cat scratching leather chairs

Ok, so I know leather and cats dont mix but they were a wonderful gift and I'd like to keep them nice

Have looked online but all solutions ask for scratch post and our cat is not a regular cat and this doesn't stop her, nor does pepper, foil, catnip, whistles etc

She is a house cat so may be bored- any ideas, will try anything...
Many thanks

my cats shredded my fabric sofas so i was apprehensive when i bought a leather suite what i did the day i got it delivered was to put olive oil and lemon juice mixed together on a soft cloth and wiped the front of the sofa and the chairs and touch wood they havent used any of them as scratching posts, if your cat wont use a conventional scratching post you can get flat ones that sit on the floor like a scratching rug

Thanks that sounds interesting - so the solution won't harm the leather then?

no the oil will feed the leather and only put a small amount of lemon juice because cats sense of smell is like 100 times more sensitive than ours
