Ooops, i'm after doing it now. I regularly foster cats and kittens. sometimes i pop round to another fosterer to pick up a cat. she was fostering a mother and kittens, and i fell in love with the mother cat. Today on Facebook i see that Bella (that's her name) is up for adoption. I didn't think, i just couldn't bear the thought of her not being ours, so i emailed them saying i would take her (as long as she fitted in with our existing cat). Now how do i tell DP? Should i bite the bullet or pretend she a "long term foster" and when he is smitten say "why not keep her?". Is it really bad?

I've put her photo up. Seriously who wouldn't love her? she so friendly and fluffy. but seriously does anyone have any idea as to how i am going to break it to him?

Hmm as you foster anyway, I assume he's fine with cats, I'd just tell him :)

Love the 'long term foster' idea :)

I finally got to the stage of wanting a cat so badly that in the end I fell in love with one, went to meet him and told DP at the time I was getting the cat (no invitation of permission)

They loved each other from the first so I'm going with telling, not asking Grin

I'd go with the long term foster thing..
Dp always said he would never have a cat, so I just brought one home one day. Three years down the line and said cat has been missing for over a month. Dp is more upset than I am..

I did the same with a dog once when I went to pick up a budgie Grin what can you do? It's fate.

Bring her home and see how she fits in would be my strategy.
