Not sure what I'm hoping for here, just other catlovers reading who understand how daft I'm being over my cat I suppose. My lovely old boy, am so hoping he gets through the op ok. He's just been out for a prowl around his territory & is sitting beside me purring away but we have had a few problems with getting the treatment sorted for his overactive thyroid - he had tablets at first but they affected his blood count quite badly & he got very poorly from them so had to be stopped. The vet said all other meds were much the same so he'd likely get the same side effects - so I decided to go ahead with the op - he's getting elderly now but is in otherwise very good shape for his age & the vet is hopeful it'll go ok.
I'm trying not to think about potential problems tomorrow, as it doesn't seem time to let him go yet - have had him from being a tiny kitten.
Am feeling a bit Sad

My friend's 18 year old cat was sooo thin when he got diagnosed with a thyroid problem she thought he would die. He had the operation and is now 21 and going strong and lithe as a leapord.
