I had to phone the cat rescue who we got our cats from to tell them we couldn't keep them anymore due to our move.
I have at least a month with them, due to there being 150 cats and kittens needing homes Sad.
I know it is the right thing to do, can't find a property that will accept pets, but can't help feeling sad.

sympathy here i work at a cat rescue and sadly this is one of the reasons a lot of cats come into our center and it is upsetting, i am lucky my landlord allows cats, you are lucky thier waiting list is only one month ours has a five to six month wait as there are 400 cats on the waiting list and 50 moms and kittens in foster enjoy them while you have them and the rescue will get them good homes like they have had with you ((((ripsishere)))))

Thanks for that. I have asked around at school and put a post on this here site in the local bit. I don't expect much from that TBH, nobody uses it.
I am very sad, DD is so upset but competition for houses is so strong we need to improve our chances however we can.

That is a total drag! This is one reason I felt I had to purchase a house, so I could have pets no matter what! I'm so aorry for you and your DD!

I had to give a resuce cat back once, it just kept battering our other cat, it would not let him down the stairs to use the litter tray. We ended up with one cat living upstairs , the other down.

We used the last in first out rule, the rescue cat was wonderful but was not right for our situation. We felt bad, but she went to a old lady, in a single cat home and was very happy.

We do own a house that we will have to rent out. The sister of a mum from school is looking for a house. Since it will be a long term move for us (7 years) I am going to ask her if she wants the cats and has a reduced rent.
