Names advice

As in my earlier post, we're going to be bringing home to two boys fairly shortly.

What are your thoughts on names? They are currently Smudge (who is black and white) and Milo (jet black). I love the name Milo, that's not a problem but Smudge, not sure - I like 'proper' names, if that makes sense...

Will it confuse him too much if I change his name? If not, any suggestions??

I have 2 cats. I changed the name of one of them, and changed the spelling of the other(!).

Neither seemed that bothered. They don't answer to their names anyway.

DulcetMoans · 23/05/2012 12:38

Our cat had a different name for the first two weeks before we changed it. It just didn't suit her! She's fine with it though, never seemed to confuse her at all. A lot of the time it's the tone you use rather than the word anyway.

I'm sure they won't mind at all!

My boys never get called by their 'given' names. I agree it's to do with inflection rather than the actual name.
What sex is your Smudge? I think something exotic and Italian to match Milo would be good.
Franco, Darko, Gianni, Giovani, Leo, Leandro
Giulia, Andrea, Paula, Aurelia, Claudia

cats do not mind name changes. they only respond to the chattering of their human minions when they want to.

iklboo · 23/05/2012 17:39

Cats don't usually care what humans call them. They think they're called Ragnar, Lord of Mouse Death or Carragan, Bird Slayer. Grin

That's reassuring. I forgot to put in my post that they've had their names for 5 years...

this is Milo whilst this is Smudge. He's a male - does he look like a Sid? Alternately, what's Italian for Smudge I wonder???

Daisybell1 · 23/05/2012 21:17
