our cat had kittens 12 weeks ago (all at new homes now) she was booked into be spayed last friday when vet informed us she is pregnant and being so soppy i couldnt have her done and abort the kittens. it is a nightmare to keep her in what with 3 other cats (males neuterd) and 3 young dds i got no chance..we did notice she didnt want to go out and was happy staying in with her kittens for the first 3 weeks and im wondering if it is possible to have her spayed during these 3 weeks whilst nursing the kittens, we live in a rurual area and currently have a garden full of calling male feral cats

It is advised not to do this as spaying whilst lactating can lead to persistent lactation. There is an injection than can be given to stop her coming into season, but it is something you should talk to your vet about.
