should i take this foster in?

I have a bit of dilemna. My local charity is desperate for foster carers for pregnant cats (and subsequent kittens). I have a 7 year old neutered female at home. She has shared before with other cats but not for the past 2 and a half years. Is it fair on her and a pregnant cat to be in the same house? would it be too stressfull for foster? would the foster be more prone to aggression if pregnant/ looking after her kittens? I'm currently fostering a kitten but he will hopefully have a home on saturday and i've been able to keep him in kitchen and Molly (our adult cat) in rest of house. Would it be cruel to do this to a grown cat?

i think as long as you can keep the mother cat in a totally seperate room for the first say four to six weeks of the kittens been born it shouldnt be too stressful for your cat or the mom cat, some moms are chilled out about other cats in the house and some mom cats turn into hell cats over protective, find out the temprement of the mom cat first and wether she has lived with other cats, a good sign is that your resident cat has accepted the foster kitten, and are you experienced enough with cats if the mom cat had problems with the birth, a friend of mine whio is a very experienced fosterer had a nightmare with one mom recently when a kitten got stuck , nighttime so had to find an emergency vet

As long as the pg one is quiet and not stressed I cant see a problem, But if she gets stressed she may smother the kittens.

One of our breeders cats used to do this. She would be ok for a few days and then one morning they would all be dead.

In the end she gave up breeding off her because it was just so traumatic, what she thought was just an inexpeirienced mom was really just a cat who didnt go a bundle on motherhood. She was a nice cat as well (when not smothering kittens).

So that would be my only concern, the mother cats reaction to your cat.

my foster kitten has gone to his forever home today. I am both and iykwim. I have emailed the charity about what kind of setup i would need for a pregnant cat. Am a bit nervous about birthing kittens and caring for them that young but hopefully i can help. if not there are still of cats that need fostering as our local animal charity has no premises at the minute and kitten season is in full swing.
