Eldest cat has adopted ds2

My eldest rescue cat - she's about 15 - has 'adopted' ds2 who is 7. She used to go to dh for cuddles, but gave that up when we got our second rescue cat. She now sleeps with ds2 and goes to him for a cuddle. She also follows him around and watches him.

When he was a newborn, she used to bring us live mice in the middle of the night - to presumably give to ds2 and also used to stay under his cot until he'd gone to sleep each evening.

ds2 is quite flattered, as she's usually vicious and evil.

Grin it's lovely when they do that.

I was part raised by a black cat called Mama.

Honestly.

Her and my mum had some sort of understanding Grin

She used to bring her kitten (she just had the one) and drop her on my mum's lap - and we're talking newborn. That's VERY unusual. and go out.

She also used to swipe the hairbrush out of my mum's hand if I said ouch.

She also HATED me sucking my thumb and would leap up and bat it out of my mouth.

As far as she was concerned, me and my sister were kittens Grin and that's how she treated us. She also trusted my mum completely with each of her own newborns. (she had one kitten, Sally-Anne. Then another single, Mary-lou, then a very long time later she had 4 and died Sad and Sally took it upon herself to raise the 4. She HATED kittens. Not a maternal bone in her body! She looked after them, but you could tell she hated doing it.)

Even as I press post, I know nobody is going to believe a bloody word of that, but I swear it's all true Grin

Aw, that's a great story Smile I think they have more going on upstairs than people give them credit for.

oh yes. I tend not to tell people cos I get Hmm face. And then they do that nodding thing and the smile. The one that says you bloody liar.

It's then I know to not mention the rabbit and guinea pigs that snuggled up to the cats by the fire.

I still remember the first time she gave my mum her first kitten (sally-anne).

Her eyes were still closed! Mama came up with sally swinging away, and placed her in mum's lap and turned round and walked off.

It was clearly "watch her, would you, I'm going out for a bit" There is nothing else it could have been.
