All over my carrier bags HmmConfused. She weed on one the other day too. Feeling fed up of the puddles Sad. Does anyone know why a cat will pee on carriers in the utility room 1.5 metres away from the cat flap?

Something outside is scaring her?

JustFab · 06/05/2012 18:55

OOoo, hadn't thought of that. Sad.

DH thinks she is being lazy.

Can you get a covered litter tray nearby so she's got options? Is she an only?

JustFab · 06/05/2012 19:12

She used to have a litter tray but it wasn't a success. She either missed or just didn't bother trying. She has been fine for a few weeks and now here we are again. She is an only cat but has 3 non furry siblings Grin. She is getting on a bit and is ill so I don't mind really, just worried about her.

OK, so nothing in the house is threatening her. Something dominant in the garden is stressing her. How many different types of litter did you try? Did you try it in different places? Covered or uncovered?

Feliway plug in diffuser is supposed to be good at calming stressed cats. I've not tried it, but heard it recommended in various places :)

If she's not stressed, does she have a utility?

*UTI

She is still weeing outside though so happy to go out there. We tried at least 4 types of litter. She has never liked litter trays. We had a feliway plug in but it had no effect on her. She has a brain issue, arthritis and her kidneys have been failing for the last year so she has regular tests and hasn't had a UTI recently. Wee normal, no blood in it.

Maybe the poor love is just confused Sad

JustFab · 06/05/2012 19:46

I know Sad. I knew instantly she was ill but now I don't know why she is weeing on the floor or why she is ripping up paper and I am worried she is suffering. The vet is really pleased with her though. He was away for 5 weeks and some of his pets didn't make it so was thrilled that FABCat did.

Sparkling Cat did this when the Ninja Burmese down the road was bullying her. He would ambush her when she was having a poo. Sad So she decided to wee indoors for a bit.
I got the litter tray back out for a while.

Bad bad Ninja AngrySad.

Do you want me to send FABCat round to sort him out?

I really don't think anything outside is bothering her. DS2 saw her wee in the garden the other day and she has also seen off a fox. She was upset when a new cat came a-visiting but that was weeks ago. I think it is to do with her age and her illness. Poor thing. She is such a clean girl and she tried to do it on a bag and not on the carpet.
