as some of you know i work at Haworth cat rescue and a feral born tabby and white 6 week old boy came in today and no pen for him so i offered to foster him for four weeks till hes old enough to go back to be put up for adoption,

i have named him jeffrey and hes quite sweet for a feral born not too spitty, and i may be having his brother who is all black if the guy can catch him if i do will call the other one zippy,

he is in my bedroom for a couple of days because hes such a littly and my mob are such biggies but will introduce him to the others and he will get lots of cuddles and love from me and attention from my grandchildren who all own cats so he should be a well adjusted furbaby when he goes back in june

Envy issey. How lovely, will you be ok parting with him?

Are cat rescue centres always after volunteers issey?

issey6cats · 05/05/2012 17:53

sparkling i will be fine taking him back as i dont want another permanent resident and yes cat rescue centers always need volunteers i only do one day a week saturdays and have done for the last four years, and i love it there i do mainly yard stuff like showing people round, and answering the phone if the office staff are busy and cleaning the pens, some people just come to stroke the cats, some do admin, some do fundraising away from the center, some knit blankets and cat nip mice theres all sorts of stuff to do, and yes sometimes you fall in love with several cats but our job is to match them up and send them to thier forever homes, says she who has a haworth hooligan and a haworth thug in residence lol

I may ask at our local one then issey. feed my feline addiction that way. Sparkling Cat says no to any other cats in the house. Sad

issey have you seen this thread? Any advice for getting kittens to poo?

issey6cats · 05/05/2012 21:05

sparkling yes i have but havent had much experience with the tiny kits, the lady who lives on the premises our ceo is the person who has vast experience with hand reared kittens she got my biscuit from a ten day old abandoned kit to the georgous boy i now have and the advice on there from pinot (bows to pinots superior knowlege of tiny kits and cats in general) is exactly right all you can do is stimulate the area till they poo
