straight to the vet with this?

Dcat had a wire put in his jaw a fortnight ago as he had a broken jaw. wire is to be removed 4 weeks from now. over the last couple of days he has seemed to be having trouble getting a hairball up which he never had trouble with before, then last night i noticed his breathing was quite loud (had been ok until last night) now this afternoon the breathing is still very loud and there is a whiny/wheezy sound coming when he breathes every breath. almost like very faint meow but definitely breathing. could thsi be releated to the wire/broken jaw? or something totally different? am thinking go straight to vet now?

saw that earlier. He can only clean up as Madame Tart or Miranda Smile

Felt sorry for him though.

IAmBooyhoo · 03/05/2012 23:53

yes i feel sorry for him. it's quite scary though because i know i could very easily get to that stage if i didn't have my children to keep the place 'liveable' for. even as he's chucking stuff i'm finding myself thinking "but that could be useful" Shock

I got scared when they introduced the lady who "visits charity shops"

DD just glared at me Blush

IAmBooyhoo · 03/05/2012 23:57

not just me then? Grin

i even have all the cats (3) too, and a dog. think i'm going to have to grab a bag and bin some stuff tomorrow to convince myself i'm not that bad.

OP posts:
crazynanna · 04/05/2012 00:00

Nah. Just move some stuff from one room to another. That constitutes "doing something about it" Wink

IAmBooyhoo · 04/05/2012 00:02

Grin that's what got me in this mess!

Only just seen this thread.

I'm so sorry op.

Be kind to yourself, you don't have to "get busy" if you don't want to.

Grief is grief, you can't quantify it and shouldn't try to down play it.

Do whatever you feel is best for you, cope in whatever way you need to.

You'd be surprised how sympathetic and understanding people will be. I know when my beloved cat died I was devastated and really expected people to say "get over it, it's only a cat".

But do you know what? Not one person did. Every single person I spoke to was so kind and sympathetic. Most shared stories about their own pets and plenty cried with me!

Have a huge (((hug))) and try to find comfort in that you know she didn't suffer.

RetiredDJ · 04/05/2012 10:38

I'm so so sorry for your loss. xxxx

IAmBooyhoo · 04/05/2012 10:50

thank you. yes people that know already have been so kind and understanding. i too thought i might get the 'it's just a cat' lines (haven't told my dad yet so it could still come-not going to see him till sunday (it's his birthday so i have to go then) just to put it off til i'm feeling a bit more together) but so far people have been lovely.

Sad poor Russ.
At least you have the comfort/satisfaction of knowing you did everything you could.
