Cat won't eat biscuits

We have a lovely little Siamese boy called Linus who is about 9months old now. He is a typical meezer, very affectionate and loving but with a real character with it. When we brought him home we were told that he ate dried food and were given a small bag of his 'usual' food. He has never touched a biscuit since setting foot in this house, not the ones that can with him or any of the other brands I have tried (Hills, Applaws, Royal Canin etc.)

He was very small and thin when we brought him home and he is quite the opposite now and getting to be a bit of a chunky bum. He is obsessed with food and begs constantly. He won't leave his dish until it is empty even though he is an only cat.

Does anyone else have a cat that just won't eat biscuits? Will he be OK on cat food pouches (and the odd treat of chicken and fish) as I am worried about his teeth? I have been giving him bits of raw meat to give him something to chew on. He is wormed regularly.

some cats like biscuits some dont, theres not a lot you can do probably wont affect him till hes older anyway so i wouldnt worry about it, i have a half siamese and he is so food obsessed its unbelievable i thought it was the feral half in him but maybe its the siamese half lol

To be honest I'd keep trying with the biscuits, purely because the chances are that he'll get dental problems anyway - so you want to do your best to minimise that.

What does he do if you don't give him pouches? Even my greedy siamese will eat dried food if she gets actually hungry and not just chancing it in the offchance that she can persuade me she needs meat

why don't you try wetting the biscuits in some water?
they should eat some, for teeth cleaning and fibre, but I guess you can't force him......
have you checked his teeth? maybe he has sore gums or something and can't chew?
am sure he's fine, probably just being difficult! ;)

Do cats need fibre though? being obligate carnivores by nature would preclude vegetable matter. The odd bit of grass isnt very high in fibre.

We have had cats who eat only biscuits and ones who wont touch them.

If you want to keep his teeth clean you can brush them (rather you than me).

Thanks all. We have tried leaving biscuits down but he assures us that he'd rather starve. Also tried mixing in a few of the little Applaws biscuits with a favourite pouch but he refused to touch it.
I did get the vet to check his teeth when he was neutered and they didn't find anything wrong. I think he is just awkward - part of his Siamese charm! Don't fancy trying to brush his teeth really, he's not averse to nipping if he needs to get his point across

Well there wouldn't be anything wrong with his teeth yet, he's only a baby, lol.

Saying that, mine had her first tooth clean and removal at 2 - so if you could get him to let you brush his teeth it would be worth it...I've never had any success though and mine is very obliging about most things.

I had this problem with one of mine. I mixed the biscuits in with the wet food, gradually increasing the biscuit ratio and in a couple of weeks she was onto dry food only.

I did worry she would starve but nature desperation overcame after a day or two
