I have a 9month old kitten and a friend has just offered me a 5 month old, is it crazy to even be considering it?

I know to get another litter tray, feeding things, bed etc, but I'm worried about introducing them.

Any advice would be welcome.

two kits thier ages shouldnt be a problem as both of them are young ,just introduce them to each other carefully and make sure the resi cat has somewhere to go to get away from the younger one, you might find the older one will batt the younger one this is to establish who is boss and not much to worry about, i have four cats a brother and sister who are 5yrs old, a boy whos 4yrs old and the youngest one who is 2 yrs old and on the whole mine get on ok good luck

so far so good, some growls and some hissing but no major fights.

Is it normal for them to use the same litter trays? they have one each, but the older one seems to be peeing in the newer tray- I thought maybe marking her territory.
